The Middle East, Unmasked
A powerhouse presentation, packing stories, wisdom, and insights into one amazing cultural exposé.
Our feature lecture seeks to expose cultural themes, historical trends, and esoteric threads that have been woven throughout time in this ‘middle region’ of the world.
Indeed, the vague boundaries of the Middle East, and its many idiosyncratic customs and peculiar profiles, leave this region cloaked in mystery, much like the women of Arabia, often covered, but for their eyes.
We wish to ‘pull the curtain up’, so to speak, and using clear and honest speech, to talk about challenging topics for the sake of a more solid grasp on this troublesome region. It takes knowledge and courage to speak about the Middle East and we aim to empower our participants with both, in this meaningful and powerful series.
Rather than just a simple, one-hour monologue, this talk/symposium opens up with a little movement and a topic relevant icebreaker or two. We incorporate some wordplay and active participation of our guests, and often, some friendly competition between voices representing different narratives. While we are providing the vast majority of the information and lecture content, we seek to pull our participants into the experience as much as as possible.
Weather through dynamic visuals, aids and some good ol bells and whistles, we want to make this experience, both informative, but also digestive and even a touch comical.
The instruments of mass media in this crazy tech-world of ours, demand that we approach topics with both an appreciation for the classic way of doing things, but also a nod and a wink to the toys and technology available to us today.
We hope to speak together soon.
